[UPS] Status of Open Archive Documents

Hi all,

Herbert and I have been working away at getting the various documents done
for the Open Archives Initiative.  We expect by the end of next week to have
the documents in beta form.  At that time I consider it critical that 3
things happen:

1. Careful reading by others in the group
2. Volunteers to implement to spec.
3. Publicity (not before we've verified the correctness and completeness of
the documents).

My idea on publicity is an ariticle about the Initiative and technology in
Feb. D-lib (I've sent e-mail off to Bill Arms about this).
