Dear all,
We are interested to fill the NSF funded position below with a person
that can master mind, specify, and direct the implementation and
maintenance of a multi-TB PostgreSQL database of scholarly data. This
database will be used to map science on a large scale - you might have
seen http://vw.indiana.edu/places&spaces.

A first prototype of the database already exists, see
http://iv.slis.indiana.edu/db. My recent paper on "Semantic Association
Networks: Using Semantic Web Technology to Improve Scholarly Knowledge
and Expertise Management" is relevant and available at
http://ella.slis.indiana.edu/~katy/paper/04-chapter11.pdf

Salary range is $50k and up. Bloomington is a great place to live.
Questions are welcome,
k
